LOVE IN THE DESERT
Sarah and Chris met while they were both working at NMTSA (Neurologic Music Therapy Services of Arizona). Their love for each other blossomed out of their shared musical passion, and it didn't take long for them to realize that they were meant for each other. Being a fellow music therapist, I knew Sarah from our college days at the School of Music at ASU. It was an easy "yes" when she asked me to be her wedding coordinator!
Sarah and Chris were a DREAM to work with. Their laid back nature, quirky personalities, and simple, romantic wedding day visions made them both fun and easy clients. They were set to be married at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix on March 8th, 2020. Sarah's extreme organization and communication skills made planning with her a breeze. I couldn't wait to bring her garden of love to life!
On March 8th, Sarah enjoyed a morning of fun and relaxation while getting ready and eating lunch with her girls at her mom's house. Chris also had fun hanging with his guys while taking their time getting ready. I picked up their decor, headed to the garden, and began putting everything in place! Sarah and Chris' style was much like their personalities: fun, quirky, and laid back. They kept the decor simple so that the beauty of the garden could take center stage, and it made for a breathtaking setting for their nuptials.
Guests were greeted by garden views with a fish sculpture backdrop and hundreds of native plants. A curved ceremony seating arrangement made the bride and groom feel like they were literally surrounded by love. As the ceremony began, a feeling of calm and serenity filled the outdoor space. Chris was blown away when he saw his bride for the first time as she floated down the aisle. The two sang a duet for their unity presentation and brought everyone to (happy) tears. The look of joy on their faces as they recessed back up the aisle reaffirmed why I love my job.
All were invited to mingle on the patio while Sarah and Chris snuck off to take sunset photos. As guests were invited inside the ballroom to find their seats, they admired the board game centerpieces and succulent details. The "par-tea" favors were a big hit!
The night kicked off with a high-energy grand entrance followed by a romantic first dance. Dinner got rave reviews and was enjoyed while guests watched a slideshow of photos of Sarah and Chris. There were many dancers amongst the guests and a large variety of musical genres to appease all of them! Some played board games while others posed for pics at the photo booth.
Sarah and Chris ended the celebration with a bubble exit, which created a whimsical and beautiful effect. My wish for Sarah and Chris is that they continue to channel the same love, light, and laughter that was found in their wedding day through their life journey together. And never stop making music!
